Obesity is the well known disease in recent past. Previously this obesity was common in adults who are above 35 years of age, who have BMI more than 30. But from the last 10 years there is a new side of obesity which is obesity in children.This is the most exiting fact that now a day’s children below 10-13 years are having this Obesity.
There are many causes for this childhood obesity. Habits of over eating should be said because it will be a hard thing to leave “Eating”. Not only over eating habits but also reinforce lifestyle habits of eating. This mostly contains high calories and trans fats contained items which children like to eat all day long. Some times over eating refers to a genetic disorder where children are to be feed all the time.
These genetic disorders are being increased now a day, the change in climatic conditions, change in life style, change in food habits, drugs and alcohol consumption, smoking, pollution etc were some of the reasons for these new disorders.
Changing children’s food habits like giving them balanced diet, avoiding more junk and fat foods, giving them more fruits and juices, try to avoid more soft drinks, artificial sweetners, etc
Along there are some things top be done that are regular exercise, daily play time and avoiding watching TV for longer hours, gaming etc.
The health of the children is very important for a healthy nation because todays children are tomorrow’s future.
